Over the past three years, Richard has visited 25 high schools reaching over a thousand students, published The Math Olympian and a Toronto Star op-ed on math education, and has developed a reputation as one of Canada's leading experts in the teaching of mathematical problem-solving.
During the 2018-19 year, Richard will be on sabbatical, helping lead the Callysto Project, a new federally-funded initiative to bring computational thinking and mathematical problem-solving in Grade 5 to 12 classrooms.
As the Callysto Ambassador for British Columbia, Richard will visit schools to share Callysto resources, sparking opportunities for deep student learning.
